November 2023
On Wednesday, 8 November, our primary pupils participated in the Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) day.
STEAM day falls under the umbrella of STEAM education which is incorporated and practised in all subjects the pupils have been learning at PASCAL Primary School Limassol.
STEAM education aims at cultivating a new approach to learning by combining the traditional arts and sciences with modern technologies. Additionally, it leads children to a path of innovative learning as they move beyond the basics in order to experience classroom activities in a more creative way.
On the day of the event, our pupils engaged in interactive, hands-on activities that promoted 21st Century skills, such as creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Pupils worked together with their peers like proper scientists, engineers and programmers towards an common goal: to create new designs.
Pupils had lots of fun interacting with robots, using LEGO and robotics to build their own creations as well as taking part in programming workshops. Moreover, they enjoyed using the 3D printer in their Digital Literacy lessons while they learned about STEAM by our STEAM ambassador, student Georgia Christofi.
It was a wonderful initiative that both pupils and teachers enjoyed. Everyone experienced the impact that STEAM activities have on learning along with the excitement and fun that come with it.
