December 2023

As part of PASCAL Primary School’s Kindness Initiative, the proceeds from our Non-uniform day were donated to the Ronald McDonald House Charity (RMHC). This is an independent charity cause, which means that Ronald McDonald House relies on the support and generosity of volunteers, fundraisers and donors so as to keep families close to their sick children in hospital each year.

PASCAL Primary School House Captains and School Ambassadors who represented our school had the opportunity to visit the premises of this charity.

On the day of the visit, our representatives were given a warm welcome by the team.  The Charity’s volunteers delivered a brief presentation of RMHC’s background and history. Our School Ambassadors were also given a tour of various rooms and common areas.  The tour included a talk about operations and procedures which allow the premises to operate in a way that resembles a hotel. Later, the pupils were involved in a discussion with the Leaders and Managers about the Volunteer Program before handing over a cheque and taking a commemorative photo.  Finally, our school logo was framed on the donors’ wall.

Our pupils are now armed with a better understanding of the necessity of such fundraising programmes as well as the importance of everyone’s donation.  Our pupils are now equipped with a wider local perspective and, most importantly, a sense of pride that derives from their positive contribution to their community.
