ABOUT PASCAL EDUCATION

PASCAL Education was founded in 1978 aiming to teach English as a second language and to prepare students for GCE A Level examinations in Mathematics and various other subjects under the trade name PASCAL Institute. Rapid expansion ensued and PASCAL Institute became the largest chain of institutes in Cyprus. Over those years more than 20,000 parents entrusted PASCAL Institute with their children’s learning.

The founder and CEO Mr Pantelis Andreou, a respected mathematician, went on and founded PASCAL English School in 1988, PASCAL Greek School (Ελληνική Σχολή ΠΑΣΚΑΛ) in 2001 and PASCAL Primary School & Kindergarten in 2017, all under the PASCAL Education umbrella.

Today PASCAL Education, with its focus on private mainstream education, is the largest and one of the oldest co-educational organisations in Cyprus, with over 1,800 students and over 300 staff members. It comprises three English-medium kindergartens, three primary English-medium schools, three secondary English-medium schools and two secondary Greek-medium schools island wide, in the cities of Lefkosia, Lemesos and Larnaka.

PASCAL Schools are fully recognised by the Cyprus Ministry of Education and Culture. They are also Cambridge International Examinations and Pearson Edexcel centres.

PASCAL Primary Schools and PASCAL Kindergartens are day schools that lay the foundations for high standards of educational achievement.

PASCAL English School Lefkosia is a day and boarding school and an accredited International Baccalaureate World School. PASCAL English School Larnaka is a day school and an accredited International Baccalaureate World School. It also runs an English Language Summer Programme for international students. PASCAL English School Lemesos is a day school that also caters for students from the city of Pafos. All PASCAL English Schools offer English Language Programmes for foreign adults. PASCAL English Schools’ population is internationally diverse with more than 35 different nationalities.

PASCAL Greek Schools (Ελληνικές Σχολές ΠΑΣΚΑΛ) are day schools offering the Cyprus National Curriculum. They prepare students for the Pancyprian Examinations for admission to the State Higher Education Institutions of Cyprus and Greece. PASCAL Greek Schools’ Leaving Certificate (Apolytirion) is accepted by UK and other universities as a sole entry qualification.

University applications are handled by the schools’ Careers Counselling offices, maximising placement at competitive universities worldwide. Every year more than 250 students graduate from PASCAL Schools. Graduates have gone on to study at universities worldwide including Cambridge, Imperial College London, London School of Economics, UCL, University of Amsterdam, Leiden University, Erasmus Business Rotterdam, LMU Munich, Heidelberg University, Sorbonne University, University of Toronto, McGill University, Stanford University, University of Chicago and Columbia University, to name a few.

MISSION STATEMENT

PASCAL Education aims to offer education that develops intellectually as well as physically active and creative young individuals who will leave school with an understanding that learning is a life-long process in which they are active participants. Individuals who are able, with their acquired critical thinking skills, compassion and knowledge to work towards creating a better world in which awareness and understanding of different cultures is a prerequisite for progress and success.

PASCAL Education aims for its students to know that in the today’s rapidly changing world it is an absolute necessity to be able to anticipate change as much as to respond to it adequately and timely.

Students are encouraged to take an interest in issues of importance to the global community, such as human rights and the environment and to accept their shared responsibility as global citizens.
