PASCAL Private Primary School Lefkosia participates in the EU Beach Cleanup Campaign 2023

In collaboration with the Environmental Management Department of Larnaca Municipality, PASCAL Private Primary School Lefkosia, PASCAL Private English School Lefkosia and PASCAL Private Greek School Lefkosia united their forces for a coastal cleanup campaign at Spyros Beach on Saturday, September 30th, 2023.

This initiative is part of the EU Beach Cleanup Campaign, a European-wide effort held during September and part of Blue Schools activities. The cleanup focused on the section of the beach within the Natura 2000 Network – The Larnaka Salt Lake area, aiming to protect sandy habitats and the adjacent area with halophytic shrubs.

Significant amounts of litter, including plastics, papers, plastic bags, glass bottles, and more, were collected during this environmentally-conscious endeavor.

The Municipality of Larnaca extended its warm congratulations to the staff and pupils of the participating schools for their voluntary contribution to safeguarding our coastline and the valuable wetlands of the Larnaka Salt Lakes.
