Between the 27th of November and 8th of December 2023, PASCAL Private English School Lefkosia participated, for the third consecutive year, in the annual Christmas Teddy Bear Campaign organised by the Nicosia Mall.
Participating in the campaign involved adopting a giant, tailor-made teddy bear via sponsorship and host it for several days to raise awareness of the cause, before giving it back to the Nicosia Mall to be donated to a local family or charity institution for in time for Christmas. During the ten days that the school hosted the Teddy, pupils and staff embraced the opportunity to incorporate some festive spirit into the final days of lessons before the commencement of the First Semester examinations.
Teddy met the school’s administrative staff, visited the school Library, Computing Labs, Science Labs, and Space Centre and got creative in the Art rooms! Teddy also participated in morning training sessions with the Athletic Section pupil-athletes where it got to play Football, Basketball, and Water-Polo as well as train with Taekwondo champions! Physical Education lessons followed where it also learnt some traditional Greek dances! The school Mathematicians and Economists put it to the test with some serious problem-solving which tired it out, and our Scientists plunged it into some exciting experiments! Teddy also learnt some French, Spanish and Greek and touched up its English and Thesbian talents with the Languages and Modern Greek & Classical Studies Departments.
The school looks forward to participating in the campaign again in the future as it is a wonderful way of cultivating compassion amongst the school community in the guise of a festive gesture, which comes at the end of a busy and strenuous semester.
